Brief Company Introduction

Our Client is Global leader in delivery of seabed-to-surface engineering and construction contractors. Our Client plan, design and deliver complex, integrated projects in harsh and challenging environments. They divide their business into principal areas of operation: Subsea, Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF), Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR), Conventional Field Development and Trunklines.

Work Scope
  • Fully responsible for engineering of solutions for the various tasks and problems encountered throughout the course of the project. Development of ideas from the concept stage through design and drawing to fabrication and eventual delivery to the worksite.
  • Produce design calculations and ensure that the design is correct and suitable from a practical offshore point of view. Collations of calculations produced on the project and ensure that all necessary checks are carried out.
  • Effective and timely production of engineering construction drawings.
  • Preparation of work packages for fabrication and service subcontractors. Direct liaisons with the subcontractors are crucial to ensure adequate supervision of the fabrication. The company resources should be fully utilised where necessary for engineering support and quality control (QC) inspections.
  • Prior to mobilisation for an offshore project, you are responsible for preparation of all procedures required for performing the work. You should also ensure that the proposed Offshore Manager is involved in the development of the procedures and that customer approval has been obtained.
  • For large scale projects, you would be expected to liaise with an Expeditor to ensure that the purchased equipment and materials arrives at the correct location at the correct time.
  • During offshore operations, you are required to ensure that works being carried are according to customer’s specifications and in a cost-effective manner. Where modifications are required, you should ensure that discussions are held with the Offshore Manager and the customer.
  • Work procedures should be presented in a Task Plan format (discussed with the Offshore Manager) that contains all relevant information about the work being carried out.
  • Keep a record of all details of the project in a logbook.
  • Upon completion of the work offshore, you should report back to the Project Manager on the general progress of the work, identifying any areas where improvements could be made.
  • You may from time to time be required to provide technical support to the tendering department for the purpose of bid preparation.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years relevant experience mainly in moorings installation.
  • Able to work independently, fast and efficiently to produce method statements for tenders as well as detailed work procedures for projects.
  • Familiar with installation of flexibles and umbilicals.
  • General knowledge of project management and administration.
  • Acquainted in Legislation and Standards as relevant for the area of responsibility.
  • Technical expert within his/her group.
  • Familiar with technical software, design, drafting, sub-contracting, and procurement procedures.
Qualifications
  • Degree in relevant engineering discipline.
