• Lead the pipeline design team on onshore or offshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC/ EPCM projects.
• Advise the Department Manager the manpower and skill levels required to ensure smooth execution of the project.
• Assign work to the pipeline team appropriately.
• Liaise with other departments, clients, vendors, subcontractors and third parties as required by the project.
• Participate in inter-disciplines, project, clients and vendor meetings.
• Overall responsible for the man-hour & schedule monitoring and control and quality of the work produced.
• Primary involvement in a typical project includes:- Develop pipeline design basis Perform pipeline route selection Perform pipeline material selection, internal and external corrosion study/design.
• Perform pipelines mechanical calculations including line pipes and bend wall thickness selection; spanning, VIV and expansion calculations. Perform pipeline on-bottom stability analysis, trenching/ backfilling design.
• Perform pipeline external corrosion protection design. Perform crossing study/ design
• Perform riser and expansion spool design/ stress analysis. Perform pipeline & riser installation analysis/ study. Perform special studies, e.g. lateral buckling, pipeline bottom roughness, ECA, etc. Provide material take off and bill of materials.
• Prepare pipeline material, coating, testing and installation specifications. Prepare pipeline material requisition; perform technical bid evaluation/ analysis and vendor data review.
• Prepare scope of work, man-hour and cost estimates for proposals.
• Groom young pipeline engineers and provide advice to peers in his field of expertise.
• Depending on the nature of the project his/her activities would involve onshore/ offshore site visits and deployment to projects task forces outside office, e.g. client offices or oversea assignment

• Shall have +/- 8 years experience in pipeline engineering design with Engineering Consultant or EPC/ EPCM Contractor
• Conversant with international codes and standards – ANSI, ASME, API & DNV
• Competent user of pipeline engineering software – AutoPIPE, CAESAR, OffPipe, SAGE, AGA, MathCAD & DNV pipeline design spreadsheets. Knowledge in operating FEA software (ABAQUS etc) and ECA will be an added advantage.
• PE license holder or Professional accreditation from recognized university together with offshore visit fitness/safety certificate shall have an added advantage.

• Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering; Marine Engineering; Civil/ Structural Engineering or equivalent.
