| Work Scope |
- As an expert in Flow Assurance engineering for major offshore projects, this individual is responsible for providing specialised technical input to the Flow Assurance aspects of the Project within approved cost and schedule.
- The Flow Assurance Engineer will also provide expert input regarding risk identification and mitigation from reservoir all the way to the Central Platform (CEP).
- Areas under their scope will be flow assurance issues in the near wellbore, well, subsea trees, pipeline, flowlines, topsides separation process and the Methyl Ethyl Glycol (MEG) regeneration and reclamation facility.
- Knowledge of reservoir fluid sampling and analysis techniques, well design, subsea systems, pipeline internal corrosion, liquid management, hydrates and hydrate modeling, inorganic scale, MEG injection and regeneration, gas/condensate separation, etc is required.
- He/she will work closely with the Business Unit, delivering fit for purpose facilities within an approved budget and will provide innovative strategies and solutions to maximize value for the Company.
- The Flow Assurance Engineer will be located in the front-end engineering design (FEED) and Detailed Design Contractor's office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a period of approximately 6-9 months then with the potential relocation to Company's office in China for the execution phase of the project.
- The Flow Assurance Engineer will be accountable for managing and delivering the Flow Assurance Engineering design aspects from the reservoir to the 3-1 CEP exit of a major international offshore project with its capital budget approaching $3-5 billion within approved cost, schedule and Company's environmental and safety standards.
- He/she will provide Flow Assurance engineering inputs to determine the flow assurance risk by producing relevant sections for a fit-for-purpose Basic Design Specification at the end of FEED for the 34-2 and 29-1 fields and also produce during the detailed design phase of the 3-1 portion of the project various Operating Guideline and Procedures associated with Flow Assurance issues.
- Manage, review and approve relevant FEED and Detailed Design Contractor deliverables ensuring all deliverables meet applicable codes, standards and specifications as well as Company policies regarding Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
- Execute flow assurance related studies covering both steady state and transient simulations for different phases of the offshore field development project.
- Provide liaise/communicate/work with other disciplines and client representatives and be part of a project based engineering team.
- Provide Flow Assurance input in terms of work scope preparation to project bids and consultancy work proposals.
- Provide Flow Assurance engineering inputs to ensure Value Improving Processes (VIP's) are appropriately utilised and the results incorporated in the project designs and plans.
- Ensure appropriate Flow Assurance engineering inputs into technical, scope, cost estimates and management reviews/audits and follow-up on assigned actions.
- Participate in process safety management, including HAZID and HAZOP activities.
- Advise on Flow Assurance issues in order to achieve maximum facility operability. Verify and endorse Flow Assurance simulations. Produce and keep updated the project Design Basis.
- Report and regularly communicate issues of critical importance to the Field Process and Lead Flow Assurance Engineer.

| Requirements |
- Professional Engineering status would be an asset.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in offshore flow assurance engineering and execution on a global basis.
- A minimum of 3 years experience either working in fabrication yards or physically offshore.
- A minimum of 3 years living and working outside the candidate's "home country".
- Proven track record as project leader in international offshore project environment.
- Proven experience on all main project development phases and familiarity working with "gated" execution processes.
- Hands-on transient thermal-hydraulic modeling / simulation work in the support of the design and operation of offshore facilities including: wells, pipelines, risers, separation and pressure-boosting equipment
- Expertise in conceptual design, front-end engineering design (FEED), Detailed Design and operation of offshore facilities.
- Experience in dealing with the flow assurance issues associated with the use of a MEG regeneration and reclamation system.
- Knowledge of the use of Wet Gas Meters and Production Management System Simulators.
- Good understanding of the issues associated with chemical testing and injection.
- Practical understanding of project and cost management principles and best practices.
- Experience in supporting project Commissioning, Start-up, and Shutdown Operations.
- Knowledge of current Risk Management practices.
- Knowledge of current business processes and best practices as utilized in international offshore project execution.
- Experience as Client representative on major offshore project.
- Experience in Hydrate, paraffin and asphaltene control.
- Experience in Fluid property and phase behavior modeling.
- Sound knowledge of Steady state and transient multiphase flow, heat transfer, fluid properties and characterization.
- Sound knowledge of flow assurance operability issues like slugging, hydrate mitigation and remediation, wax management and sand production and transportation and pigging.
- Familiarization of Local, National and International Standard and Codes.
- An external network with the offshore process engineering community is definite asset.
- Strong knowledge of using Flow Assurance software such as Pipesim, OLGA, Multiflash, PVTSim). Other software skills like HYSYS and PRO II and other dynamic simulators such as FLOWMASTER would be a definite asset.
- Proven leadership, communication and teambuilding skills.
- Proven innovation skills with a strong business focus.
- Above average written and spoken English skills.
- Ability to read and speak Mandarin would be a valued asset.

| Qualifications |
- A Degree in chemical engineering / chemistry is required. Additional post graduate qualifications would be desirable, such as a Master's or PhD in chemical engineering / chemistry.
