Brief Company Introduction

Our Client is a MNC which operates at the forefront of the O&G industry.

They are involved in the exploration and production of O&G and are currently looking for a Pressurized Mud Cap Drilling Engineer (PMCD) to join their team.

Work Scope
  • To direct, supervise and monitor the Mud Cap Drilling (MCD) operations on the rig, ensuring that they are safely and efficiently executed in accordance with the agreed procedures.
  • To monitor and ensure that the agreed scope of work is completed in order to maintain the technical integrity of the Company Assets.
  • Shall be responsible to ensure that the site from where Mud Cap Drilling (MCD) operations are carried out is operated in a manner commensurate with supporting the Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) operations in the company's worldwide.
  • Pressurized Mud Cap Drilling Engineers’ Responsibilities:
  • The Drilling Engineers will work offshore on rotation, the scope of their work will typically include but not to be limited:
  • To direct, supervise and monitor the Mud Cap Drilling (MCD) operations on the rig, ensuring that they are safely and efficiently executed in accordance with the agreed procedures.
  • To monitor and ensure that the agreed scope of work is completed in order to maintain the technical integrity of the Company Assets.
  • To undertake system design for annular pressure control with emphasis on training of rig crew.
  • To prepare procedures for local campaigns from global experiences.
  • To develop Hazard Identification (HAZID) / Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) (for new system designs).
  • To provide technical consultancy and advisory support for over-pressured reservoirs and Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) expertise.
  • To model gas percolation/gravity exchange with MCD to determine effects of different fluid types and hole geometry.
  • To actively assist the Company in pursuing the development of Rotating Control Device (RCD) for subsea drilling applications, e.g. with surface Blow Out Prevention (BOP), drill string deployed subsea RCD insert or stand-alone subsea RCD.
  • To implement hydraulic modeling and software simulation. Promotion of robust and sustainable safety culture offshore including safety inductions, toolbox meetings and weekly / monthly HSSE meetings.
  • Ensure occupational health (OH) standards are maintained at the highest possible levels.
  • Be fully familiar with the Company's emergency and contingency plans for Well Control incidents requiring evacuations.
  • Ensure any incidents pertaining to MCD operations (including near misses) are reported in a timely manner.
  • To ensure that Hazards & Effects Management Planning (HEMP) is in place, and HSE risks associated with mitigation and prevention measures.
  • Participate in onshore handover meeting with back to back and onshore team.
  • To provide managed pressure drilling & well control response training to onsite crew and classroom training to office based staff.
Requirements
  • Must have at least 3 years experience in snubbing unite operations as snubbing supervisor/snubbing operator.
  • Must have at least 2 years recent experience as a Company Representative / Project Manager / Well Control Specialist in MCD.
  • Must be competent in operations and possess IWCF certificate and/or Hydraulic Work Over (HWO) certificate and/or Snubbing certificate.
  • Should be fully familiar with all Mud Cap Drilling (MCD) and Under Balanced Drilling (UBD) activities including design, procedures, HSE techniques and equipment.
  • Must be fully conversant with all Well Control requirements pertaining to the activities referred to in the roles & responsibilities.
  • Must be able to communicate (both written and spoken) in English fluently.
  • Must be capable of producing reports, audit documents, chars, forms, presentations etc. using word processing software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have relevant current medical and safety training to work Offshore.
  • Experience of working in environments where English is not first language.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills for supervisors and workforce, self-motivation, energetic and determine.
  • Strong, multiple operator references.
  • Malaysians and/or non-Malaysians
Qualifications
  • Must have, at minimum a High School certificate with at least 10 years oilfield experience level specifically covering well completions, Mud Cap Drilling (MCD) and Under Balanced Drilling (UBD).
