Brief Company Introduction

Our Client is a MNC which operates at the forefront of the O&G industry.

They are involved in the exploration and production of oil and gas and are currently looking for a Sabah Asset Integrated Activity Planner to join their team.

Work Scope
  • Execution of the overall IAP process Short-Term (ST), which satisfy ST IAP Plan Entry Criteria (PEC).
  • Identifying optimal execution windows for all activities taking into consideration business strategy, asset priorities and constraints and the availability of resources.
  • Setting up and preparation of the monthly and quarterly review meetings.
  • Preparation and distribution of the key outputs (plans, options including Hydrocarbon Development (HD) and Production System Optimization (PSO) assimilated with production impacts, KPIs (Key Performance Index) and summary of issues/clashes for discussion).
  • Recording and highlighting proposed changes to the plan and their impact on the IAP plans.
  • Serving as a common reference for analyzing the planning/scheduling phase and controlling the execution phase.
  • PREPARE AND MAINTAIN THE SHORT-TERM IAP PLAN:
  • ST IAP is derived from a more detailed view of the first 90-days of the Medium-Term (MT) IAP.
  • Ensure resources are acquired and managed, readiness of further defined scheduled and, if required, integrated in greater detail.
  • Update production impacting events and include minor production impacts.
  • Further align across functions, optimize activity timing and ensure alignment across Assets.
  • PREPARE FOR INTEGRATION PLAN:
  • Manage and communicate the key steps and deliverables of the ST process to the functional planners.
  • Identify shared resources demands and allow scheduling within local constraints in the ST IAP.
  • Define work scope, rank and prioritize the execution, identify the worksite requirements to ensure the doability and effectiveness of the execution.
  • Prepare the plans, KPI's and issues for discussion and facilitates the monthly ST IAP meeting.
  • ENSURE APPLICATION OF PLAN ENTRY CRITERIA:
  • Check on the quality of functional activity planning data for completeness.
  • Ensure compliance to agreed plan criteria and readiness to execute.
  • SHUTDOWNS:
  • Work closely with the Shutdown Planner and Coordinator to maintain he planned asset shutdown windows.
  • Maintain the planned asset shutdown windows as the Operating Unit's (OU) single verifiable source of shutdown timings, including responsibility for establishing the shutdown driver, maximum duration critical path and maintaining related deferment data in the planning system.
  • FACILITATE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PLANNING MEETING:
  • Facilitate monthly functional planning meeting with planners from all functions and shutdown planner.
  • Ensure close co-operation and co-ordination with the other key responsible parties within the Asset, e.g. operations, maintenance/engineering, logistics and underwater.
  • Combine, integrate and optimize the multi-functional plans within the Asset or Region in order to maximize the Business outcomes (Production and Reserves) within the resource constraints (Opex, Capex, onshore/offshore resources).
  • Manage or coordinate incumbent planners and schedulers and co-own the system activity planning data on behalf of the Asset/Region.
  • MANAGE CHANGE CONTROL/COMMUNICATE CHANGE:
  • Catalogue and highlight all proposed changes and their associated business impact on the integrated plan and to gain the relevant authorization for each change in line with the matrix.
  • KPI's ANALYSIS:
  • Measure the stability and the effectiveness of the plan at execution in ST.
  • Ensure that KPI data is firstly collated and summarized.
  • Analyze KPI data to identify improvement areas.
  • Present the findings with recommended actions at the monthly ST IAP meeting.
  • SPECIAL CHALLENGES:
  • With the continuous advances in systems technology and the evolving nature of the business, the IAP planner (with support from the line) will be expected to actively and effectively interface with multiple functional and Asset staffs at their level to evaluate data quality, ensure planning issues are understood and communicate change.
  • Able to assimilate information from a variety of detailed Functional and Asset plans and apply appropriate filters to consolidate and feedback plan performance to form the basis of business decisions.
  • Able to appreciate the overall contribution of the Asset to the business including commercial and venture partners' sensitivities and encompass detailed knowledge of the Asset's product stream and the associated interdependencies (e.g. pipelines, processing plants, tanker schedules and satellite developments).
  • Reasonable good at IT tools and systems to handle SAP (especially of the modules Plant Maintenance and Project Services), Primavera and its suite of work management tools and even to exchange information between SAP and Primavera.
  • Able to play a key facilitating role in ensuring activity owners and those tasked with activity execution are committed to and deliver the plan.
  • Able to frequently challenge functional team members and activity owners such that:
  • Functional Plans are reviewed (pre-work), challenged and approved as input to IAP.
  • Inter-asset communication of change via functions is effective.
  • Visibility and transparency of plans at IAP meetings.
  • The right people (delegates)show up at IAP meetings.
  • Clashes resolved before the IAP planning meeting are documented.
  • Unresolved clashes are identified and placed upon the agenda of the IAP planning meeting with documented options, risks and uncertainties/impacts.
  • Effective communication of the plans.
  • IAP meetings resolving cross-asset and/or cross-function clashes of priority e.g. shutdown timings, exploration/development, drilling priorities, etc.
  • Decisions made in full knowledge of benefits and implications for the Enterprise.
  • The same rigor is applied to ST changes.
  • The previous months and weekly plans are reviewed with lessons learnt.
  • Actions and action parties agreed and actions closed out.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Oil & Gas industry, of which at least 3 years in Production Operations and minimum 6 months in a planning and programming role (if with Degree in Engineering or equivalent). OR Minimum 15 years experience in Oil & Gas industry in a supervisory role in Operations and Maintenance (if with Technical Diploma or equivalent).
  • An understanding of the production optimization processes, a basic knowledge of hydrocarbon accounting and fiscalization processes, a good understanding of well services and work over operations, good computer skills and an understanding of reservoir constraints and production methods for the job and good understanding of Asset Integrity and process safety.
  • Personal qualities should include networking and influencing skills, ability to manage change and interfaces and deal with ambiguity.
  • Good understanding of the production optimization processes.
  • Basic knowledge of hydrocarbon accounting and fiscalization processes.
  • Good understanding of well services and work over operations.
  • Good understanding of reservoir constraints and production methods for the job.
  • Good understanding of Asset Integrity and process safety.
  • Good computer skills i.e. SAP (especially of the modules Plant Maintenance and Project Services) and Primavera and its suite of work management tools.
  • Must be Malaysian.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Technical Diploma or equivalent
