| Work Scope |
- Strategise, plan, manage and control vessels to ensure its timely availability , reliability and safety to meet customers’ requirements.
- Responsible for vetting vessels’ repairs, quotations, bills and management of the technical, operational and maintenance requirements of the vessels and any other assignment mandated by the management.
- Ensure adequate resources and shore based support are applied as required for the implementation and maintenance of the company’s management system
- Develop Fleet operational guidelines for AET’s vessels in line with latest regulations set by local and international maritime authorities to ensure compliance with all the statutory/classification and industry requirements, enable vessel to be operated locally and world wide in the most effective and efficient manner.
- Develop guidelines on the effective maintenance and repair of assets for the current and long-term (longevity) deployment to ensure compliance to Plan Maintenance System.
- Develop fleet annual budget focus on cost control measures and dry-docking activities, based on current and historical analysis and trends to achieve the desired operational margin and contribution, in the most cost effective manner.
- Manage and control the fleet expenses through effective monitoring, analysis and review of the relevant monthly and quarterly reports to ensure expenses within approved budget.
- Work closely with HR Sea department to develop crew competency development programs to enhance crew’s competencies, skills and knowledge to meet vessels’ operational challenges in ensuring no/ minimizing downtime.
- Plan, manage and control vessels’ dry-docking activities aimed at improving vessel’s efficiency and reliability, as to ensure the predetermined repair works are carried out within the approved budget and time allocated.
- Review and negotiate docking and repair quotations and bills with shipyard owners to reduce costs.
- Responsible to ensure that PMS (AMOS) is implemented and utilized effectively and efficiently to facilitate the administration of maintenance and repair programme, improving corrective measures and minimizing the downtime of vessel’s operation.
- Assess and review the systems capabilities for improvements to comply with AET standard and guidelines and meeting the business objectives.
- Manage and control all purchases of consumable stores and services, spare parts, bunker and lubricants, chemicals, paints, etc to ensure adequate supplies and payments are made on a timely and cost effective for smooth operations of vessels.
- Develop, motivate and train subordinates to achieve professionalism, cohesiveness, integrity and loyalty in meeting the departmental and departmental objectives.

| Requirements |
- At least 3 years as Chief Engineer on board tanker vessels and 3 – 5 years experience as Technical Superintendent
3 or more years experience as Technical manager of tanker vessels.
- Sound technical knowledge of ships and shipping industry, particularly tanker vessels / tanker markets. Conversant with local & international requirements of shipping.
